Tom Bluemlein finds inspiration for his oil landscapes, waterscapes and still lifes virtually everywhere he travels, though most of his paintings are created close to home, in the Smoky Mountain region of Eastern Tennessee and the beautiful Ohio Valley woodlands.
Tom’s art career spans forty years and several states-from his studies in Cincinnati, Ohio and Woodstock, New York, to the inspiration he seek from his year living in Santa Fe New Mexico. In addition to painting, Tom enjoys helping and encouraging other artists, and he does regularly through his workshops and painting demonstrations.
Tom is a member of several professional art organizations, including: Past President of the Cincinnati Art Club, past President of the American Impressionist Society and is a Signature Member of the prestigious Oil Painters of America and he was selected to be in the National Show in 2008, where he was given an Award of Excellence for his painting ‘Flight’. Tom has also been chosen instruct at the National Plein Air Convention and was associated with the Indiana Plein Air Painters Association. Tom was chosen by Ashley Rooney to write the forward to her book “100 Artists of the Midwest.”
Tom’s paintings are in the corporate collections of Great American Insurance Company in Cincinnati, Ohio and Jewelry Television Network and he is the artist in residence at the Fort Mitchell Country Club in Fort Mitchell, KY and The Metropolitan Club in Covington, KY.
Tom now makes his home in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky with his wife Jonna and dog, Tina.
