Tom Bluemlein finds inspiration for his oil landscapes, waterscapes and still lifes virtually everywhere he travels, though most of his paintings are created close to home, in the Smoky Mountain region of Eastern Tennessee and the beautiful Ohio Valley woodlands.

Tom’s art career spans forty years and several states-from his studies in Cincinnati, Ohio and Woodstock, New York, to the inspiration he seek from his year living in Santa Fe New Mexico.  In addition to painting, Tom enjoys helping and encouraging other artists, and he does regularly through his workshops and painting demonstrations.

Tom is a member of several professional art organizations, including Past  President of the Cincinnati Art Club, past President of the American Impressionist Society, The Indiana Plein Air Painters, the Kentucky Watercolor Society and is a Signature Member of the prestigious Oil Painters of America. Tom was also chosen to be an instructor at the Nation Plein Air Convention in Monterey California in 2015.  He is extremely proud that the Oil Painters of America have selected his painting for their national juried shows for three years running [2004-2006]. Tom was chosen by Ashley Rooney to write the forward to her book “100 Artists of the Midwest” . Tom was also selected to be in the National Show in 2008 where he was awarded an Award of Excellence for his painting ‘Flight’. Tom’s paintings are in the corporate collections of Great American Insurance Company in Cincinnati, Ohio, The Marriott Hotel in Covington, Kentucky and Saint Luke Hospital.

Tom now makes his home in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky with his wife Jonna.
